September 20019/11/01: This day started just like any other day. However... my wife and I were sitting in traffic going to work, and we heard some important news on the radio. A plane had just crashed into one of the World Trade Center towers in New York. At first I assumed it was something like a Cessna flown by an individual doing some sort of stupid stunt. Before long, we heard that another plane hit the second WTC tower. Then I knew it was more than a stupid stunt, it was an act of terrorism. Then we heard that both planes had been commercial airliners. The news just kept coming. It was not long before our company closed and sent everyone home for the day. Once I got home and squared things away regarding my work responsibilities, I took a 9” TV out into the garage, and resumed my work on building the heavy duty saw horse I would need for delivery day. Normally when I work in my garage, I watch the planes as they are approaching for landing at West Houston Airport. They normally fly over on final approach for runway 15. No planes few by that day, and would not resume flying for some time. This will be one of those hand-full of days that we will all remember very clearly for the rest of our lives.
