This picture shows a detail that ES builders will want to pay particular attention to. Lancair does not provide a mechanism that holds the baggage compartment door open. Many ES builders install some form of gas strut here. Jim found a solution that custom car builders use to hold their hood open. Hopefully Jim won't mind if I steel this idea, because I like this solution better than anything I have seen yet.
